About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

CMOC signed a cooperation agreement with Lualaba Power SA for the development of the 200 MW Nzilo II hydropower project on the Lualaba River in the DRC, designed to integrate solar power via pumped storage. The project supplies clean electricity directly to CMOC's TFM copper-cobalt mining and smelting operations to reduce fossil fuel dependence and support decarbonization of Scope 1 and 2 emissions. The Project , with a 200 MW capacity, is designed to accommodate solar pro- duction by using the dam as a giant hydro storage battery" — https://en.cmoc.com/html/2024/News_0701/69.html
