About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
AGRANA subsidiary Moravskoslezské cukrovary replaced the coal-fired boiler house at its Opava, Czech Republic sugar factory with a new multi-fuel steam boiler system capable of operating on natural gas and biogas from beet processing wastewater. The project eliminates coal use, achieving approximately 25,000 tCO2e annual emission savings, and entered test operation in September 2025 for the first coal-free campaign. Evidence: "the phase-out of coal at the site in Opava, Czech Republic (ACS – Sugar segment), which was completed in the reporting year (investment: € 9.9 million; emission savings potential: 25,000 tonnes of CO2e, achieved in the reporting year)" — https://www.agrana.com/fileadmin/inhalte/agrana_group/annual_reports/2025_26/AGRANA_Annual_Financial_Report_2025_26_EN_web.pdf
