About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

SIPEF commissioned its first bio-compressed natural gas (bio-CNG) plant at the Perlabian palm oil mill in North Sumatra, Indonesia, in December 2025. The facility converts captured methane from palm oil mill effluent (POME) into bio-CNG to replace fossil fuels in industrial applications, reducing emissions in SIPEF's own operations. Evidence: "In December 2025, SIPEF commissioned its first bio-compressed natural gas (bio-CNG) facility at the Perlabian mill to convert recovered methane into renewable energy and replace diesel in industrial applications." — https://www.sipef.com/hq/news/sipef-furthers-its-efforts-in-sustainable-tropical-agriculture-with-launch-of-bio-cng-facility/
