About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Shell Canada Products is developing the Polaris carbon capture facility at the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Scotford in Alberta, Canada, to capture approximately 650,000 tonnes of CO2 annually from the refinery and chemicals complex. The captured CO2 will be transported via pipeline to the Atlas Carbon Storage Hub for permanent underground storage. The project builds on the existing Quest CCS facility and is expected to reduce Scope 1 emissions significantly at the site. Evidence: "Shell announced the Final Investment Decision (FID) for Polaris, a carbon capture project at the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park, Scotford in Alberta, Canada. Polaris is designed to capture approximately 650,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually from the Shell-owned Scotford refinery and chemicals complex." — https://www.shell.com/news-and-insights/newsroom/news-and-media-releases/2024/shell-to-build-carbon-capture-and-storage-projects-in-canada.html
