About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

DP World launched a pilot project in October 2023 to retrofit a diesel RTG crane with a hydrogen-electric generator, battery storage, and hydrogen system at its Vancouver terminal. The pilot entered field testing in 2025 to evaluate zero-emission performance for potential scaling to 19 RTGs that currently generate over 4,200 tonnes of CO2 annually. Evidence: "DP World launched its pilot project in October 2023. The first phase included retrofitting a diesel RTG with an integrated solution... The RTG has now entered its second phase, a one-year field trial" — https://www.dpworld.com/en/news/canada/initial-testing-of-hydrogen-fuel-cell-rtg-crane
