About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The SustainSea project deploys bound4blue’s innovative eSAIL® rigid wind sail system on five large cargo vessels operating mainly in EU waters to harness wind energy, reduce fuel consumption, and cut GHG emissions. It targets a 91% reduction in relative emissions compared to reference scenarios, avoiding 14,037 tonnes CO2e in the first three years of operation and 46,789 tonnes over ten years. The initiative aligns with EU Green Deal and IMO regulations, promoting decarbonization in maritime transport.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
