About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Nutrien completed a vent sweep project at its Redwater, AB Nitrogen facility in 2023 that eliminated a source of methane emissions, resulting in an approximate 75% reduction in methane emissions from the facility in 2024 compared to 2022 and an approximate 17,000 tCO2e reduction in Scope 1 emissions. Evidence: "Redwater, AB vent sweep project: In 2023, the completion of this project eliminated a source of methane emissions at the Redwater, AB Nitrogen facility. This contributed to an approximate 75 percent reduction in methane emissions from the Redwater facility in 2024 compared to 2022. Since methane has a global warming potential approximately 30 times higher than CO2, this reduction equates to an approximate 17,000 tonne CO2e reduction in Scope 1 emissions compared to 2022." — https://companiesmarketcap.com/sustainability-reports/3955.sar.en.2024.pdf
