Ahold Delhaize secured a Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) for a new onshore wind farm in Galaţi County, Romania, developed by OX2 and owned by HELLENiQ Renewables (HELLENiQ ENERGY subsidiary). The project generates around 309 GWh annually, with Ahold Delhaize contracting 50% (~158,000 MWh/year) and receiving Guarantees of Origin for 12 years; expected operational by 2027. This is the third European PPA, advancing renewable electricity sourcing and Scope 2 reductions.
