About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

On-site 37 MWp photovoltaic solar plant with 16 MW battery storage system at the Sabodala-Massawa gold mine in Senegal. The project generates renewable power for mine operations to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower Scope 1 and 2 emissions intensity. It was announced in 2023, constructed, and commissioned as a key part of Endeavour's decarbonisation strategy targeting 30% emissions intensity reduction by 2030. Evidence: "The plant, which will significantly lower fuel consumption and power costs, while reducing emissions, will be commissioned in early 2025." — https://www.miningweekly.com/article/endeavour-to-build-55m-solar-plant-at-senegal-mine-2023-08-02
