About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
NYK Group completed and operates the world's first commercial-use ammonia-fueled tugboat Sakigake in Tokyo Bay as part of NEDO Green Innovation Fund project. The vessel was retrofitted with a domestically produced ammonia engine developed with partners, enabling fuel switching from conventional fuels in NYK's own shipping operations. Evidence: "On August 23, the ammonia-fueled tugboat Sakigake was completed by NYK and IHI Power Systems Co., Ltd. (IHI Power Systems) in cooperation with Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK). This is the world's first ammonia-fueled vessel for commercial use." — https://www.nyk.com/english/news/2024/20240823_01.html
