About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
At AGC's float glass plant in Seingbouse, France, an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) plant of 1.3 MW capacity was installed in 2024 to recover waste heat from the furnace and generate CO2-neutral electricity. Two on-site photovoltaic plants (2.7 MWp installed 2024 and 5.1 MWp operational early 2026) were added under a long-term PPA with E.ON, supplying ~15 GWh/year of decarbonized electricity and avoiding ~900 tCO2 emissions annually. Evidence: "In Seingbouse, an innovative Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) plant, with a capacity of 1.3 megawatts (MW), was installed in 2024 to capture the waste heat from the furnace. ... A first PV plant of 2.7 MWp was installed in 2024, followed by the installation of a second PV plant of 5,1 MWp which has been operational since the beginning of 2026. ... This prevents around 900 tons of CO2 emissions each year." — https://www.agc-glass.eu/en/news/sustainability/decarbonizing-glass-manufacturing-agc-seingbouse-use-waste-heat-photovoltaic-power
