About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Cathay Pacific entered an agreement with Sinopec to refuel flights departing from Hong Kong International Airport with SAF produced by Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company (ZRCC) from used cooking oil via HEFA pathway. The first batch was uplifted in April 2025 and certified to reduce lifecycle emissions by about 80% vs conventional jet fuel. This expands the SAF value chain from the Chinese Mainland. Evidence: "Cathay Pacific today announced it has entered into an agreement with China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) to refuel some of its flights departing from Hong Kong International Airport with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) produced and blended with conventional aviation fuel by Sinopec" — https://news.cathaypacific.com/cathay-pacific-and-sinopec-join-forces-in-a-sustainable-aviation-fuel-initiative-rrp7ac
