The SUNBREWED project demonstrates solar thermal technology with a Thermal Purchase Agreement at Athenian Brewery in Patras, Greece, supplying CO2-free steam to replace fossil fuels in the brewing process, achieving 100% relative GHG emissions avoidance compared to the reference scenario. It features an industrial-scale concentrated solar thermal power plant integrated with a thermal storage system. The initiative avoids 2,192 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions annually.
