About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The BEAR project at Steklarna Hrastnik implements a first-of-its-kind hybrid end-fired regenerative furnace with over 40% electrical melting share at their production site in Hrastnik, Slovenia, replacing an existing furnace for extra-white flint glass production with a capacity of 170 tonnes per day. It addresses energy inefficiency in the glass industry by combining electric and regenerative heating, reducing natural gas consumption by more than 50% and integrating renewable energy sources for enhanced efficiency and resilience. The project supports local job retention and creation while serving as a decarbonization model for other sectors.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
