About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The SunRISE project by NorSun AS aims to construct a new 3 GW manufacturing factory in Norway for resource-efficient n-type mono-silicon ingots and wafers used in high-efficiency solar PV cells. It employs advanced automation, AI, thinner wafers, and hydroelectric power to cut costs by over 50% and CO2 intensity by more than 50% versus Chinese benchmarks, supporting EU PV supply chain reshoring. The initiative is projected to enable at least 4.9 million tonnes CO2e reduction over its first decade via renewable electricity displacing fossil fuels.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
