About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Outokumpu inaugurated its new EUR 30 million biocoke agglomeration plant in Tornio, Finland, which processes biochar into biocoke to replace fossil coke in ferrochrome production. The plant has the potential to reduce direct CO2 emissions by up to 82,000 tonnes annually at full capacity and supports the company's 42% emission intensity reduction target by 2030 from 2016 baseline. Biocoke production has already started for internal use and external customers. Evidence: "The plant has the potential to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 82,000 tonnes annually when operating at full production capacity." — https://www.outokumpu.com/en/news/2026/outokumpu-inaugurates-new-agglomeration-plant-for-biocoke-in-tornio-as-part-of-its-climate-targets-3779425
