Polyus Verninskoye is testing and implementing hydrogen-powered electric generators to replace diesel backup power plants for supplying energy to communication towers and other facilities at the Verninskoye site. This involves on-site hydrogen production via electrolysis to reduce diesel fuel use and associated emissions in own operations.
