About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
NTPC operates a pilot carbon capture unit at its 500 MW Unit-13 coal-fired plant at Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station in Madhya Pradesh, India. The project captures CO2 from flue gas using Carbon Clean technology and converts it to methanol via catalytic hydrogenation with green hydrogen, demonstrating CCU for insetting emissions from NTPC's own thermal operations. Evidence: "After operating successfully for two years, the pioneering carbon capture project at NTPC’s 500 MW coal-fired Unit-13 at the Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station in India has reached a major milestone when CO2 captured from flue gas using Carbon Clean’s CaptureX semi-modular technology was used to produce the first drop of methanol." — https://www.carbonclean.com/en/press-releases/ntpc-project-milestone
