About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Visa entered a multi-year virtual power purchase agreement with MP2 Energy (Shell subsidiary) to power its largest data center in Virginia with 100% renewable solar energy from new solar generation facilities. The agreement supports expansion of solar assets including Briel Farm, Gardy’s Mill, Hickory, Rives Road, and Pamplin, replacing a portion of REC purchases and contributing to Visa's 100% renewable electricity goal achieved in 2020 and maintained thereafter. It reduces Scope 2 emissions from the facility accounting for over one-third of global electricity use. Evidence: "Visa (NYSE: V)... announced today that it has entered a multi-year energy agreement with MP2 Energy LLC... to power Visa’s data center in the commonwealth of Virginia with 100 percent renewable energy... The electricity generated by the projects and Visa’s purchase of associated project RECs will replace a portion of Visa’s purchases of RECs... Visa expects to begin using in February 2023." — https://usa.visa.com/about-visa/newsroom/press-releases.releaseId.17786.html
