About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Asahi Kasei, together with Mitsui Chemicals and Mitsubishi Chemical, signed a basic agreement to decarbonize and optimize ethylene production facilities in western Japan. This includes installing an initial facility at Asahi Kasei's Mizushima Works using Revolefin™ technology to produce ethylene, propylene, and other basic chemicals from bioethanol feedstock, plus consolidating operations by discontinuing the AMEC Mizushima ethylene facility and modifying equipment at other sites. Evidence: "Utilizing the HtA Support Program, an initial facility to manufacture ethylene, propylene, and other decarbonized basic chemicals from bioethanol by applying the Revolefin™ technology, which is currently under development by Asahi Kasei, will be installed at the Mizushima Works of Asahi Kasei." — https://www.asahi-kasei.com/news/2026/e260127
