About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

ANA installed AeroSHARK riblet film, developed by Lufthansa Technik and BASF, on its Boeing 777 freighter (JA771F) starting September 2024 and on a passenger 777-300ER (JA796A) in April 2025. The technology reduces aerodynamic drag on the aircraft fuselage, lowering fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in ANA's own flight operations. Evidence: "ANA is the first company in Asia to operate a Boeing 777 passenger aircraft equipped with shark-skin-inspired riblet film developed by Lufthansa Technik and BASF." — https://www.anahd.co.jp/group/en/pr/202504/20250426.html
