About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The Beijing Shougang LanzaTech project utilizes synthetic biotechnology to convert CO2-rich off-gases from steel production into ethanol and microbial protein at Shougang's Jingtang Steel Mill in Hebei Province, China. As the world's first industrial-scale gas fermentation facility for the steel industry, it has been operational since 2018 and demonstrates scalable carbon capture and utilization technology. The initiative transforms industrial waste into valuable low-carbon products, contributing to emissions reduction in the iron and steel sector.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
