About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
DTE Energy is converting its Belle River Power Plant units from coal to natural gas fuel switching in its own electric generation operations. Unit 1 conversion completed in 2025 and Unit 2 in 2026, reducing emissions from the plant while maintaining reliability. Evidence: "DTE Electric plans to spend about $9 billion to add 4,400 MW of solar, 1,000 MW of wind and 760 MW of battery storage in the next decade... converting the two units at DTE Electric’s 1,270-MW coal-fired Belle River power plant to a natural gas-fired plant in 2025 and 2026." — https://www.utilitydive.com/news/dte-electric-proposes-9b-spend-on-5-4-gw-renewables-760-mw-storage-coal-to-gas-power-plant-switch/635781/
