About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The MetZero project aims to produce biocarbon at industrial scale from wood waste and low-value biomass using pyrolysis and agglomeration technologies, serving as a fossil-free reductant alternative in the metallurgical industry for silicon and manganese production.<grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">16</argument></grok:render><grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">42</argument></grok:render> It achieves 16% higher carbon content than metallurgical coal while providing mechanical strength and reactivity, and generates carbon-neutral energy.<grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">0</argument></grok:render> Over the first ten years of operation, it is expected to avoid 415 kt CO2 emissions, supporting Europe's circular economy and supply of critical raw materials.
