The Carbon2Business project deploys a second-generation oxyfuel carbon capture process at Holcim’s Lägerdorf cement plant in Germany, capturing over 1.2 million tons of CO2 equivalent annually starting from 2028. The captured CO2 will serve as a raw material for synthetic methanol production, integrated with the HySCALE100 electrolyser and methanol synthesis project. This initiative aims to transform the plant into the world's first climate-neutral cement facility.
