About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The ELECTRA project demonstrates the world’s first industrial-scale electric cracker (e-cracker) at INEOS Inovyn’s site in Rafnes, Norway, using renewable electricity to crack ethylene dichloride (EDC) into vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), replacing fossil fuel-burning crackers. This innovation avoids significant greenhouse gas emissions, producing up to 100,000 tonnes of low-carbon VCM annually for low-carbon PVC across Europe. It aligns with the European Green Deal, reducing CO2 by up to 21,000 tonnes per year and improving air quality by cutting NOx emissions.<grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">15</argument></grok:render><grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">0</argument></grok:render>
