About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

UPM is installing eight electric boilers at its paper mills in Finland and Germany to replace fossil fuels (primarily natural gas) in heat and steam production. This electrification project supports UPM's 2030 target of reducing CO2 emissions from fuels and purchased electricity by 65%. Some boilers were commissioned in 2023, with the remainder installed by end of 2023. Evidence: "UPM is replacing the use of fossil fuels with electric boilers in heat and steam production at its mills in Finland and Germany. A total of eight boilers will be installed, mainly to replace the use of natural gas." — https://www.upm.com/news-and-stories/releases/2023/04/upm-electrifies-heat-and-steam-production-at-its-mills-in-finland-and-germany/
