About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
SCG Cement signed an MoU with Nippon Steel Engineering (NSE) and Thai Nippon Steel Engineering and Construction (TNS) to study and demonstrate carbon capture and utilization technology using the ESCAP chemical absorbent system on exhaust gases from SCG cement plants in Saraburi Province. The project includes plans for a demonstration plant in 2024 to capture CO2 for conversion to methane with heat recycling, funded in part by Japan's NEDO. Evidence: "SCG and NSE will jointly study the feasibility of an in-house developed chemical absorbent carbon dioxide capture system called “ESCAP™” to capture carbon dioxide from exhaust gases emitted from SCG’s cement plants in Saraburi Province. ... Initially, SCG plans to set up a demonstration plant developed in partnership with the NSE in 2024" — https://www.scgnewschannel.com/en/scg-news/scg-signs-mou-with-nse-and-tns-to-study-carbon-capture-and-utilization-technology-from-cement-plants-in-thailand-and-southeast-asia-aims-to-achieve-net-zero-cement-concrete-by-2050/
