About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Eurotunnel, a Getlink subsidiary, is developing an on-site solar PV installation comprising ground-mounted plants and carport canopies with approximately 48 MWp capacity across 55 hectares on the French Coquelles terminal. The project will produce an estimated 48 GWh annually and directly power the overhead catenaries for trains in the Channel Tunnel, covering up to 12% of the site's electricity needs from 2028. Evidence: "This project aims to cover up to 12% of the site's electricity consumption from 2028 and will directly power the catenaries of the two rail tunnels under the Channel." — https://www.getlinkgroup.com/en/news/eurotunnel-launches-an-unprecedented-solar-programme-to-cover-12-of-its-electricity-needs-with-locally-produced-decarbonised-energy/
