About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Outokumpu decided to invest EUR 40 million in a high-quality biocarbon production plant in Sassnitz, Germany, using waste wood as feedstock. The plant, with 15,000 tonnes annual capacity, will supply biocarbon for biocoke production at the Tornio agglomeration line starting in the first half of 2026, enabling replacement of fossil coke and reducing direct emissions by up to 50%. Evidence: "Outokumpu on päättänyt investoida 40 milj. euroa rakentaakseen korkealaatuista biohiiltä valmistavan tehtaan Saksaan. ... Tehtaan suunniteltu vuosikapasiteetti on 15 000 tonnia biohiiltä." — https://news.cision.com/fi/outokumpu-oyj/r/outokumpu-investoi-biohiilitehtaaseen-saksassa-vahentaakseen-entisestaan-suoria-paastojaan,c4075299
