About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Fortum is building and operating a pilot-scale clean hydrogen production test center in Loviisa, Finland, using 1 MW alkaline and 0.75 MW PEM electrolysers powered by fossil-free electricity. The facility supports technology validation and operational learning for future industrial decarbonisation projects. First hydrogen produced in December 2025; fully operational in 2026. Evidence: "Fortum has succeeded in producing first hydrogen at Kalla Test Center in Loviisa, Finland, during the first phases of the commissioning of the electrolyzer equipment. The test center is expected to be fully operational during spring 2026." — https://www.fortum.com/en/media/2025/12/fortum-produces-first-hydrogen-kalla-test-center
