About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Tata Chemicals Magadi Limited commissioned Africa's first electric calciner paired with a 5MW solar photovoltaic plant at its soda ash facility in Kenya. The project replaces fossil fuel use in calcining with renewable electricity and electric heating to cut carbon emissions in soda ash production. Evidence: "Tata Chemicals Magadi Limited has launched the world’s first solar-powered Soda Ash plant, harnessing a 5MW solar PV system to replace fossil fuels and significantly cut carbon emissions." — https://www.tatachemicals.com/kenya/media/newsroom/press-releases/tata-chemicals-magadi-commissions-industry-first-electric-calcining-plant-accelerating-path-to-carbon-neutrality
