About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Covestro implemented NAUCI projects at its Baytown, Texas (US) and Shanghai (China) sites by installing plant units with improved catalysts to reduce nitrous oxide emissions from nitric acid production. The projects became operational in late 2024, achieving combined annual reductions of around 160,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalents from 2025, with additional NOx reductions. Evidence: "Another milestone in our climate strategy is the successful implementation of the NAUCI (Nitric Acid Unit Climate Initiative) projects at the sites in Baytown (United States) and Shanghai (China) in November and December 2024. ... Around 120,000 metric tons of CO₂ equivalents ... At the site in Baytown (United States), annual emissions of CO₂ equivalents were cut by around 80,000 metric tons" — https://www.covestro.com/-/media/covestro/corporate/investors/annual-general-meeting/2026/en/covestro_combined_management_report_2025.pdf
