About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The Nauticol Energy Net-Zero Blue Methanol Project was a proposed world-scale facility in Grande Prairie, Alberta, designed to produce 3.4 million metric tonnes of blue methanol annually using methane pyrolysis technology combined with carbon capture and storage to achieve net-zero emissions. It aimed to supply low-carbon methanol as a marine and industrial fuel, supporting economic growth through 5,000 construction jobs and 300 permanent positions. The project was ultimately cancelled in February 2023 due to economic viability issues.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
