About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Sumitomo Joint Electric Power Co., Ltd. (subsidiary) constructed and started operations of the Niihama North Gas-Fired Power Plant using LNG at Ehime Works, replacing coal and heavy oil. This fuel switch reduces annual CO2 emissions by 650,000 tons across Ehime operations. Evidence: "In November 2022, Sumitomo Joint Electric Power Co., Ltd. started operations of the Niihama North Gas-Fired Power Plant, a facility it constructed that uses LNG. These efforts will result in a 650,000-ton annual reduction in CO2 emissions." — https://www.sumitomo-chem.co.jp/english/sustainability/information/library/files/docs/SCSR25e_p61-94.pdf
