About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
NiSource implemented cross compression technology on distribution and transmission pipelines to recycle natural gas during blowdown operations instead of venting, reducing methane emissions. Standards were promulgated in 2024 with ongoing use. Evidence: "Cross compression, first introduced at NiSource in 2022, is utilized in the gas industry to recycle gas back into the pipeline system rather than venting to the atmosphere during pipeline blowdown operations." — https://www.nisource.com/docs/librariesprovider2/nisource-documents/nisource-2024sustainabilityreport.pdf?sfvrsn=2068f951_6
