About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The NTPC-Technip-L&T MeOH project at Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station captures CO2 from flue gas of a coal-fired power plant and converts it into methanol using green hydrogen produced through PEM electrolysis powered by variable renewables. The integrated facility comprises a 20 TPD CO2 capture unit, a 2 TPD hydrogen generation plant, and a 10 TPD methanol synthesis unit. This pioneering initiative supports India's vision for a Methanol Economy, reduces dependence on imported fossil fuels, and aids in meeting carbon emission reduction targets under the Paris Agreement.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
