About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

SIPEF commissioned a bio-CNG plant at its Perlabian palm oil mill in North Sumatra, Indonesia, that captures methane from palm oil mill effluent (POME) and converts it into renewable bio-compressed natural gas. The facility reduces the company's direct Scope 1 emissions from its own palm oil operations. Evidence: "Commissioned in December 2025 in partnership with KIS Group, the plant converts methane from palm oil mill effluent (POME) into renewable gas, producing approximately 109 620 MMBtu of bio-CNG annually, and reducing CO₂ emissions by more than 54 000 tonnes each year." — https://www.sipef.com/hq/news/sipef-furthers-its-efforts-in-sustainable-tropical-agriculture-with-launch-of-bio-cng-facility
