OMV started up a new ReOil chemical recycling plant at its Schwechat refinery in Austria in 2025, with capacity to process 16,000 metric tons of end-of-life plastics per year into circular feedstock for chemicals and plastics production. This is an upscaling of the proprietary technology integrated into refinery operations.
