About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Suzano's new single-line eucalyptus pulp mill in Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil, incorporates biomass gasification for lime kilns replacing fossil fuels, advanced efficiency technologies reducing chemical and water use, and generates surplus renewable energy from biomass and black liquor exported to the grid. The mill is designed as zero fossil fuel in key processes and became operational in 2024. Evidence: "This will be one of the few mills in the world that will run with zero fossil fuels based on a raw material of 100% planted trees. ... installing a gasification process ... and an operation that will sell 180 MWm of electricity to the national grid." — https://www.andritz.com/spectrum-en/suzano-cerrado-planting-the-future
