About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

PBF Energy owns a 50% interest in and operates the Saint Bernard Renewables LLC (SBR) biorefinery co-located at its Chalmette Refinery in Louisiana. The facility converts organic feedstocks such as used cooking oils, animal fats, and seed oils into renewable diesel using the Ecofining process, with a capacity of up to 20,000 barrels per day. Commissioned in 2023, it lowers the carbon intensity of PBF's product portfolio as part of its energy transition strategy. Evidence: "In 2023, we reached a significant milestone in our energy transition strategy with the commissioning of our renewable diesel unit (RDU) as part of the Saint Bernard Renewables (SBR) business—a joint venture between PBF Energy and Enilive S.p.A. Located alongside our Chalmette refinery, this facility has the capacity to produce up to 20,000 barrels per day of renewable diesel." — https://www.pbfenergy.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/2024-PBF-Sustainability-Report.pdf
