About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Kumba Iron Ore (Anglo American subsidiary) is developing a 63 MW on-site solar photovoltaic plant at the Sishen mine in South Africa as part of the Regional Renewable Energy Ecosystem (RREE) initiative. Preparation work was completed by end of 2024, with execution targeted for late 2026 to supply up to 35% of the operation's electricity needs and reduce Scope 2 emissions. Evidence: "63 MW on-site solar project progressing towards execution in late 2026; Once constructed, it will provide up to 35% of the operation’s electricity (excluding storage)" — https://www.angloamericankumba.com/~/media/Files/A/Anglo-American-Group-v9/Kumba/investors/annual-reporting/kumba-climate-change-report-2024.pdf
