About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Launched in July 2023, the Spacia X limited express train features improved motor performance and energy-efficient traction systems reducing CO2 emissions by up to 40% versus the prior 100 series, while operating on renewable electricity matched via FIT non-fossil certificates in the Nikko area. Evidence: "Spacia X reduces CO2 emissions by up to 40% compared to the conventional Spacia and uses the FIT Non-Fossil Certificate from TEPCO Energy Partners to replace the equivalent amount of electricity used to operate this limited express train with electricity that is effectively 'zero' CO2 emissions." — https://www.tobu.co.jp/pdf/csr/report/2023/en/2023_all_en.pdf?20250115
