About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Tucson Electric Power (TEP), a Fortis Inc. subsidiary, plans to convert Units 1 and 2 at the coal-fired Springerville Generating Station to natural gas operation by 2030. This fuel switching project replaces nearly 800 MW of retiring coal capacity to maintain reliability while reducing emissions in TEP's own generation operations. Evidence: "Tucson Electric Power plans to convert Units 1 and 2 at the coal-fired Springerville Generating Station to operate on natural gas by 2030 to maintain reliable, affordable service and support local employment." — https://www.tep.com/news/tep-to-convert-coal-fired-springerville-generating-station-units-to-natural-gas/
