About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
RWE proposes to retrofit its Staythorpe combined cycle gas turbine power station in the UK with post-combustion carbon capture technology to decarbonise its operations. The project enables capture of emissions from natural gas power generation for secure underground storage, supporting RWE's net zero by 2040 target and UK decarbonisation goals. Evidence: "The company proposes to retrofit the power plant with innovative carbon capture technology, enabling the capture of up to 3.7 million tonnes of CO2 annually." — https://uk.rwe.com/press-and-news/2025-02-04-rwe-announces-public-consultation-carbon-capture-project-staythorpe/
