About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Valero is connecting eight of its corn ethanol plants in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota and South Dakota to Summit Carbon Solutions' proposed CO2 pipeline for capture and permanent geologic storage of fermentation emissions. The project directly reduces Valero's Scope 1 CO2 emissions from its owned ethanol production facilities. Evidence: "Valero has agreed to transport greenhouse gases from eight of its ethanol plants on Summit's proposed pipeline, which will lead to the capture of 3.1 million metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually" — https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/climate-energy/valero-joins-summits-carbon-capture-project-2024-03-04
