About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The Waste to Methanol project is a joint venture led by ENI in collaboration with NextChem (Maire Tecnimont Group), focusing on converting non-recyclable municipal waste into methanol through advanced gasification technology at the Eni refinery in Livorno, Italy. The plant will produce 110,000 tons of methanol annually by gasifying waste to produce syngas, which is then synthesized into methanol after cleaning and conditioning. This circular initiative supports sustainable chemical production by utilizing waste as a renewable resource, reducing fossil fuel dependency and environmental impact.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
