About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The AAL SEB project at the Aughinish Alumina refinery in Limerick, Ireland, replaces gas boilers with a 25 MW high-pressure electric boiler to supply heat for alumina digestion in the Bayer process. Funded by the EU Innovation Fund, it provides zero-carbon steam representing about 10% of the plant's demand. The project became operational in 2024, contributing to decarbonization of the aluminium sector.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
