About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The Aramis CCS project is an open-access CO2 transport and storage hub located in the Maasvlakte area of the Port of Rotterdam, designed to connect industrial emitters to depleted offshore gas fields in the North Sea for permanent CO2 storage. It integrates with complementary projects like CO2next and Porthos to form a comprehensive CCS infrastructure, supporting cross-border emissions reductions from industries in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and France. Awarded €124 million in EU funding in 2023, Aramis aims to enable large-scale decarbonization with a transport capacity of up to 22 million tonnes of CO2 per year.
