About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The CarBatteryReFactory project establishes a factory in Iggensbach, Germany, for the serial production of industrial energy storage systems using second-life electric vehicle batteries with disruptive full-pack technology that avoids dismantling. This enables scalable, cost-effective reuse of entire battery packs for industry and grid operators, significantly lowering the carbon footprint. Operational since early 2024, it fosters a second-life battery market and aims to lead Europe in this sector with initial 200 MWh capacity growing annually.<grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">50</argument></grok:render><grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">52</argument></grok:render>
